In order to study in Germany, foreign students need proof of their existing German language skills. The TestDaF (German as a Foreign Language) tests the required language skills in four parts: Reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written and oral expression. Participation in the TestDaF is subject to a fee and takes about three hours.
The performance achieved is not assessed as "passed" or "failed", but is assigned to one of the following TestDaF levels:
The examination sections are evaluated individually according to a level. After successful participation, participants receive a TestDaF certificate approximately six weeks after the examination. The certificate contains a placement in level 3, 4, or 5 for each part of the examination. In Germany, universities often require at least TDN 4 for each part of the examination. However, each university has its own admission regulations, about which applicants should inform themselves in advance.

TestAS is a central and standardized test for foreign students regarding their ability to take on university studies in Germany. The TestAS result provides information about where prospective foreign students stand in comparison to other applicants. A good test result can improve the chances of getting accepted to a university in Germany.

For the DAAD & BVMD language certificates, we offer tests in the following languages:
Chinese, German for foreigners, English, Finnish, French, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Swedish, Spanish, Czech (other languages upon request).
In the language tests we check reading comprehension, writing, and speaking in the respective language. The duration of the test is approximately one hour. The fee is (from) 52,50 euros inlc. VAT and postage.
